Event Overview

Government priorities are shifting.  This summer’s hard-fought deal to raise the debt ceiling will cut spending for federal agencies by more than $7 billion in 2012.  With contracting budgets, today’s focus has shifted from building up the enterprise, to creating interoperability between IT systems: cloud computing is replacing traditional IT models; data centers are being consolidated; data is being aggregated and shared and acquisition is turning away from custom-built applications, to off-the-shelf solutions. Originally developed to comply with the Clinger-Cohen Act, the Federal Enterprise Architecture is evolving from a compliance-based tool to an active participant in the enterprise.

1105 Government Information Group’s 9th Annual Enterprise Architecture Conference will bring together chief enterprise architects, CIOs, and program / project managers from across Federal Civilian Agencies, Department of Defense, and state, local, municipal organizations and industry to discuss the critical application of EA methodologies to today’s top government priorities, including cloud computing, information sharing, cybersecurity, and mobility.
